Surely countless medical careers have been launched because of this humorous game. The Operation game board features Sam the patient, lying atop a red plastic "operating table" with 12 body cavities exposed. Players perform highly skilled procedures with a pair of tweezers such as removing a broken heart or butterflies in the stomach. This kind of surgery requires a steady hand! Doctors must remove the offending body part without touching the metal lining of the cavity. Touch the metal edge, and you'll set off the buzzer and make Sam's nose light up. Then the designated Specialist steps in--for double the fee! If you're playing solo, try performing all 12 operations without getting zapped. Two AA batteries are required. Operation is for one or more players. --Elizabeth Ward

- Reviewed in the United States on May 15, 2025Fun family game. The younger children found it frustrating until we all took turns lighting up the patient’s nose… then it was funny. We play by time it takes to remove an organ rather that trying to not touch the side. When adults only, we play by official rules.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 13, 2025Back in the 90's, I remember the sound when you would touch the metal sides to be a loud, alarming buzzer. It is now more of a smooth vibration sound, much less alarming and easier to withstand as the parent. That being said, I can confidently say I will not be allowing my children to operate on me. Ever. Lol
- Reviewed in the United States on May 30, 2025I gave this to my cousin for his graduation for med school. He’s going to be a surgeon. I thought it was hilarious!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 2, 2025I bought this for my grandson and now the whole family plays with it. We have a ball and it’s so much fun, we laugh at each other when we hit the sides and it buzzes. It’s so much fun!

5.0 out of 5 stars Original product and works great
Works great and it is the original which is better then the newest version. It takes 2 AA batteries instead of the big D Battery that would never stay in place on my older one.
