Size Guide: Living Room

5’ x 8’

Consider a 5’ x 8’ rug for smaller living rooms. We recommend placing the front legs of your sofa on the rug so it’s not “floating” in the middle of the room.

8’ x 10’

8’ x 10’ rugs look great in most living room settings. This size allows you to place the front legs of your furniture on the rug, which ties things together.

9’ x 12’+

In larger living room settings, a 9’ x 12’ or 10’ x 14’ rug makes a big statement. Plus, bigger rugs make the entire room look bigger. If you have a sectional, you should probably consider this size.

That being said, everything has its flaws. 1) The rug is wool, so as others have mentioned, it does shed. But it’s not that bad. Especially if you are vacuuming it regularly. I’ve had it for about 2 months now, and it does seem to be shedding less and less. In my opinion though, it’s worth the minor annoyance. 2) The rug arrived with what looks like a box-cutter slice through it. See photo. It was small, on the back, and did not break through the rugs weaving, so the rugs overall integrity is in tact. For me it really wasn’t worth an attempt to return it. But be warned - I saw this in a couple of other reviews as well, so seems like a recurring issue.

I might have given it only 3 stars because of these flaws if it weren’t for that fact that otherwise it is a 5 star product. Split the difference with 4. I get so many compliments on it and am otherwise extremely happy with my purchase.
