About this item
- ESSENTIAL FOR WOMEN POSTNATAL MULTIVITAMIN: is for the arrival of a mother’s new nutrient needs. It’s formulated with 15 key nutrients for 6 months postpartum, and throughout lactation. Our formula is vegan, sugar-free, gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, soy-free, and formulated without stevia, sugar alcohols, and artificial colors, flavors, or sweeteners. Each serving provides 350mg of Omega-3 DHA.*
- MADE TRACEABLE: Our world-class scientists scoured the globe for high quality ingredients when formulating Essential for Women Postnatal Multivitamin. Our formula includes Vitamin D3 made from sustainably-sourced lichen found in the UK - for bone support, Vitamin A made through fermentation, from Israel - for antioxidant support, Sustainably-sourced Vitamin C from Scotland - for immune support, and Omega-3 DHA from microalgae discovered in Nova Scotia - for heart support.*
- NON-GMO PROJECT VERIFIED: We trust NSF, one of the world’s leading certifying bodies to verify Essential for Women Postnatal Multivitamin. The Non-GMO Project verification guided by NSF experts assures customers that products have been produced according to best practices for GMO avoidance.
- SMART CAPSULE: Innovative nested capsule technology acts like a barrier system to keep fat soluble and water soluble forms separated, within a single capsule, so key ingredients can be taken in one serving. Our delayed-release capsules are designed to dissolve later in the small intestine, an ideal place to absorb nutrients. Plus we add a citrus tab to every bottle so taking your multivitamin daily can be a more enjoyable experience.*
- THIRD PARTY TESTED: Every lot must pass our rigorous third party testing review for heavy metals, major allergens, and microbes. Plus we test the identity, purity, strength, and composition, so we can be sure that what’s on the label is what’s in our capsules.
- OUR HAPPINESS GUARANTEE: We want you to love your Ritual products! If you’re not completely satisfied with your order, simply reach out to us directly for friendly support. Product Description

-
What is Made Traceable?
We define traceability as a sense of accountability when it comes to the impact we have on our customers and the planet. You can trace the decision-making process behind our ingredients, from scientist, supplier to the countries they’re sourced.
-
Why does the oil color change from time to time?
Your multivitamin can come in many shades of gold. Our soy-free Vitamin E, a nutrient that provides antioxidant support against free radicals, comes from Buenos Aires, Argentina and can have natural, seasonal color variability from lot to lot.*
-
What kind of testing do you do?
Each batch is tested for identity, purity, strength, & composition, so we can be sure that what’s on the label is what’s in the capsules. We also use a 3rd party lab to test each batch for heavy metals, microbes, allergens, and other contaminants.
-
Who should take Essential Postnatal and for how long?
The postpartum period is commonly defined as the time from birth up to 6 months post-birth. We recommend Essential Postnatal to women for 6 months after giving birth or for as long as they plan to breastfeed or pump.*
-
What’s the difference between Essential Postnatal and Essential Prenatal?
Essential Postnatal is formulated with Vitamin A, Vitamin C, and Zinc, which aren’t in Essential Prenatal. It’s also aligned with the Recommended Daily Allowance for Iron in lactating women with 8mg and 200 mcg of Iodine per serving.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 25, 2024Flavor Name: MintSize: 60 Count (Pack of 1)Verified PurchaseAfter using some prenatals and postnatal from Costco, I realized there are so many other types out there that are better.
First of all, pill size. These are not too big so it’s easier to swallow. The only thing is you have to take 2. But it’s not as bad because they’re not as big as the ones I used to take.
There is a hint of flavor. It is a minty flavor which is kind of weird; makes me think of swallowing toothpaste. But it’s better than tasting a fishy odor, which the other pills alert giving off.
Also, this is a monthly supply. Which can be pricey. But it tastes better and is more comfortable. I’ve been using this for a while now and have a subscription to refill.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 23, 2025Flavor Name: MintSize: 60 Count (Pack of 1)Verified PurchaseThese are great! I also used the prenatal version before and during my pregnancy. They are easy to swallow, doesn’t hurt your stomach, has plenty of vitamin B and gives natural energy, overall amazing quality.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 13, 2024Flavor Name: MintSize: 60 Count (Pack of 1)Verified PurchaseI have been taking these postnatal vitamins for 2 months now and love them. I took a different postnatal after I had my first baby and I felt bloated and sometimes sick to my stomach. These give me no side effects. I take them in the morning with breakfast. To be honest they have a little minty aftertaste but it’s not bad at all! I have them on a subscription so I don’t even have to worry about remembering to order each month.. cuz you know, mom brain! I’m so happy I found these vitamins!!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 20, 2025Flavor Name: MintSize: 60 Count (Pack of 1)Verified PurchaseSo I was having a lot of weird side effects that I couldn't quit put my finger on until I stopped and restarted this vitamin. Also I hate that these are flavored and you can not pick a unflavored one. I took these because they were highly recommended for post natal. Left me with horrible fishy burps and the worsat smelling gas I have ever experienced.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 31, 2024Flavor Name: MintSize: 60 Count (Pack of 1)Verified PurchaseLOVE this postpartum vitamin, and really all of their stuff. At the beginning this has a really refreshing mint flavor, but after a couple of weeks, has a slight taste difference. Again, the best ingredients and I can feel a difference in myself when I do take it, I think it's made a huge impact on my baby's health as well, but just has a bad flavor after a while. Maybe it's how I'm storing it, or that's just how it is...not sure. Either way, I buy it every month and will continue to do so because of the quality. Just buy it!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 30, 2025Flavor Name: MintSize: 60 Count (Pack of 1)Verified PurchaseLove them! No stomach upset!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 19, 2025Flavor Name: MintSize: 60 Count (Pack of 1)Verified PurchaseIt’s okay
- Reviewed in the United States on May 27, 2025Flavor Name: MintSize: 60 Count (Pack of 1)Verified PurchaseI do feel like it's helping with my energy and recovery. The ingredients seem high-quality, and I appreciate the transparency and clean formulation.
However, the biggest downside for me is the strong fishy smell and taste. It’s pretty overpowering—so much so that I try to swallow it as quickly as possible without letting it sit in my mouth. If you’re sensitive to smells or tastes, this might be a challenge.
