Great for post workout!
Back when I used to take classes at my gym, the trainer would always encourage us to “roll out” with a foam roller after our workout. It helps with working out the kinks in the muscles that are sore or tense after workout. I got the 3ft wide one because it allows you to roll out every part of your body and balance easier. It’s very firm, but it should be for the way that I use it. I personally love it, though it’s a little thicker than the one I used at the gym. I used it last night and it works just as well as the one I’m used to.

    I ordered this foam roller when I started running during quarantine. Even though I'd been going to the gym regularly, running seemed to bring all new types of muscle soreness and tenseness!

    The foam roller itself is great. It's high quality and has stood up well. No foam falling apart or cracking. It's also easy to wipe down if you're worried about it getting sweaty or just generally dirty. I like the high density, although that may be personal preference...if you generally prefer a deep tissue massage over something more gentle, the high density is for you.

    However, I wish I had bought a smaller version of this. I initially thought "bigger is better", especially since the product description mentioned 36-inch was suitable for anyone. In retrospect, the 36" is too big to work a single leg at a time (it gets in the way). If you're also looking to target a single leg at a time for quads, cales, IT band, etc...I'd recommend the medium foam roller. That's long enough for stability and short enough that you can get the other leg out of the way without doing weird contortionist moves.

    If you're new to this, do your first few rolls with a video online. You'll get some good pointers and then can roll independently based on your needs once you get the hang of it.

    If you have back issues and need to stretch it out, rolling on this thing once and a while will help you out.
    My biggest issue is remembering to use it! But, I keep it in the corner out of the way, so it's easy to store. And not too expensive. Really recommend if you have back tightening issues and stretching helps you. For me, it was my lower back. I can hear things popping when I roll/stretch on it so it's doing the job.

    This is an incredibly basic foam roller. It works as intended, but at the same time it feels really cheap/is prone to cuts and tears. It's super light, which is normal for foam rollers but this one feels like it will float away if I don't hold it carefully enough. Not a bad piece of equipment to have but it's very much a low-level product and it might be worth spending a little more on something more durable.
