For half inch to half inch hard or soft wood.
5 out of 5 stars
For half inch to half inch hard or soft wood.
For me this is the correct screw(3/4 in) for 1/2in to 1/2 in for pocket holes. Use this even for softwood because you need more threads. This is why you find only hardwood version of 3/4 kreg screw. If using the micro jig 3/4 is the suggested screw for 1/2in . The kreg pocket hole jig 310 is the one I used. Remember alway use clamps to prevent movement. Many clamps. An update: some wood is very soft and 3/4 may not be the best , dont use power screw driver with 3/4, best to try 1in screw on scrap wood if it work use that instead.

Most people seem to think a screw is a screw, but there is a difference in screw quality and how well they perform and tighten before stripping out the wood.
Kreg screws are worth the money.

I have a project that requires to use ½ inch plywood to be linked with pocket screws, so I looked in the user manual which says to use 3/4 inch screws. Guess what, wrong!!! I ordered these screws specifically for my project and they are way too short to be used with ½ inch plywood. I triple checked all my settings and everything was set for ½ inch material, yet, the 3/4 inch screws barely bite by a 1/4 inch into the wood which renders the joint useless. Lesson learned, use 1 inch screws for ½ inch material. The quality of the screws themselves is good, they are legit, the Kreg pocket hole jig user manual is all screwed up.

It works as well as other Kreg products but I don't know yet whether or not I needed to buy it. I own the Kreg Master Pocket Hole jig and other Kreg products, and, for the most part, like them over other alternatives, like biscuits. I purchased this product because I'm planning to build some cabinets for the laundry room out of 1/2" maple plywood with a 3/4" maple face frame. I don't know when I will get around to doing this so I'm offering some considerations, for what they are worth. After I got the jig, I tried it out with two pieces of 1/2" plywood. Now, we all know that 1/2" plywood is at least 1/32 shy of being 1/2". What I found was that the "recieving" plywood (that is, where the end of the screw winds up) split out. This is probably because the screw, the one they recommended, still comes out too close to the edge AND, the plywood is actually made of "plys". I'm not sure this is a problem for the following reasons: 1), I haven't purchase my 1/2" maple plywood so I don't know whether or not it will be 1/2", 2), for the most part, I will be sinking the screws into the 3/4" face frame of solid maple, not 1/2" or 3/4" maple plywood. So, maybe I really didn't have to buy this. If you're like me, sometimes you deviate from the "standard" Kreg recommendations. For example, joining two 3/4" boards uses a 1 1/4" screw. But, in some cases I need a longer screw because I'm going through a grove which reduces the holding power. So, you adjust the "block" and the "collar" on the drill bit. There is "trial and error" in this, but here I would use a longer screw with a "shallower" screw penetration. You would not likely be able to use a filler plug. I think this is probably a good product, but in hindsight, I would recommend that you, more than I did, consider EXACTLY what you're joining and then even do some tests with what you have. In the grand scheme of things, the price of this product is "reasonable" except, maybe when you're like me on a fixed income and you need the money to buy drugs to keep you going for another day. As I said, the jury, for me, it still out.

I would have preferred the coarse-thread soft-wood variety, but these were the only 3/4" pocket screws I could find anywhere! I wanted to easily be able to attach some pine 2x4s to 3/4" plywood without any risk of screws poking through. (I'm also using glue, so it doesn't need to be crazy strong.) Even though they're made for hardwood, they worked great in my project. No slippage or tear-out whatsoever. I couldn't be happier!

I use 3/4" screws when I have blind screw pockets on the inside of a cabinet and need to fasten a face frame. Any longer will crack the frame. Kreg screws grab well and are consistently strong and reliable.
