My son got this on his 8th B'day. Before I bought this, I had looked at the Caster Board which my son found a little difficult to get on and get going. But as this is bit smaller, I was not sure if this will be too small for him or as this can take significantly lesser weight as compared to caster board, for how long he will actually be able to use it.
Once this arrived, all my doubts were cleared. This my son found very easy to get on and in just about 3-4 hours of practice could do most of the things. In fact, this not just he, but also older kids who had the caster board, found to much more maneuverable and easy to control.
He is using it for about a month now and the quality of RipStik is excellent. Absolutely no issues on any front. Now my son can do the Caster Board, Wave board, but he keeps coming back to his RipStik as he finds it to be most comfortable. The only time he does not likes it is when he is racing with his friends where the bigger Caster Board is an obvious winner. But otherwise, he loves moving on it and even inside the house, going from room to room.He practically uses it to go everywhere where he can/could go walking. And I think the compact size does helps.
