Nice design by Built for a solid Stanley competitor at a good value
I like Built’s products, so decided to give this a try. Stanley has made the 40 oz tumbler the new go to water bottle, but they charge a pretty serious premium for it. This is a good alternative, but doesn’t live up to the Stanley standard. We have built lunch totes, bottle totes, and a tumbler. We’ve been happy with all of them. They make solid products with good designs. This fits with our expectations. It’s a nice bottle. As the Stanley is the standard today, I took a picture with this Built tumbler next to it. I really like the design of this better. The tapering to fit in a cup holder is more graduated than other models which I think make its look more attractive. Good handle. I like the built-in pop up straw. It is double wall / insulated, and BPA free. I haven’t gotten enough use to tell how durable it is yet, but I’ve had good experience with Built’s products. So, why four stars? In my initial experiments, I didn’t find it to keep things cold as long as I would have hoped. It definitely works and is double walled, but it won’t keep a drink long all day like other models. I put eight ice cubes and cold water in it, sealed the lid and came back four hours later. It was far from warm, but also far from ice cold. My Stanley and Larq will keep drinks cold for much longer. This won’t impact my use as I’ll load it up with more ice. It’s a very nice product at a competitive price point. I’ll enjoy this.
