I use this to sauté some cabbage. Did the job and everything was tasty. Doing a direct taste, This is probably a better oil for bread, it is bitter in a good, fresh way. It came very well packaged, and a bottle is attractive… It would be a nice gift, but otherwise I can buy similar quality oils at the store if I wanted to. Good, just not cheap for the quantity you get.

    Bightland's Alive Olive Oil has got more going for it than my normal brand. However, at the high cost, it is definitely more of a finishing/dressing oil and not the one to reach for if you are going to apply a good amount of heat. The heat take away a lot of the subtleness from the flavors.

    Speaking of price, again it is high and seems to be a bit pretentious (price inflated by the copywriter)...definitely trying to trade on a brand name. regardless of this... the oil is good.
