  • The portable monitor comes with a Type C to C cable for connection. Not any Type C cable will work, it must be USB C 3.0 and above version to support video output.

  • Type C to C cable for power supply & video output, need to make sure device has a full function type c port. If not, you will need a USB A to C cable to connect the adapter for power, and then connect the HDMI to Mini HDMI cable for video output.

  • You can set it up on laptop, Start-Setting--Display setup--Multiple displays, in the interface can set different modes.

The RFGOUPY 15.6-inch screen worked very well for my needs. In the box you get several cables with the screen and its magnetic case. It also comes with a USB power supply in case your computer cannot power it. I found all I needed to make the display work with my laptop was the single USB-C cable. Setting up the display was easy. The hardest part was figuring out how to stand it up. I had taken it out of the box without paying attention to which way the case went on the display. The included booklet came in very handy to help me reposition it. So, you will want to hang on to the booklet. Using the single USB-C cable, I plugged the monitor into my laptop. On the right side of the monitor this just required me to plug the cable into the center plug connector. The other end went into my laptop’s USB connector as well. On the left side of the monitor is a power switch and feature selection switch. The feature select switch works by pressing it in towards the monitor momentarily. This will bring up the feature menu on the screen. Once the menu is displayed, you can raise or lower the same switch to select an item on the menu. It was quite easy to use. All I had to adjust was the brightness of the display because I was going to be using it outside. After you make your selections, the menu will disappear after a few seconds of non-use. The other plugs on the side of the display are used if your computer cannot power the display from the single USB cable. If this is the case the booklet shows the combination of cables you need to use to get the display to work. When using the USB-C cable I did not need to install any drivers. I found the display to be sharp and crisp. I included a close up of the screen so you can see how the display resolution looks and how the brightness looks outdoors. Using this on a covered open-air patio was not an issue for me, even on a bright sunny day. In fact, I found the display to be brighter than what my laptop screen was capable of. As a test I used the display for an entire afternoon connected to my laptop. During that entire time, it was powered from the laptop itself with the laptop being on battery only. There was no excessive power drain on my laptop, and I had plenty of power in reserve. So, I was able to work outside for about 4 hours. This display makes a nice companion to any laptop or where you need a secondary screen for expanded display space.

    It's a good concept, but static screen as described; however, the fix is a terrible solution. It doesn't work most of the time, so I am considering returning it and buying a replacement. I could buy a replacement for much less money, and so could you.

    I found this works out of the box just as expected although I can't give it 5 stars simply based on cost vs competitors for a 1080p portable monitor.

    It was easy to set up and the included cables will allow you to work with most input devices (computer, mobile phone, etc.) I wanted it for the specific purpose of having a larger screen readily available for my iPhone, mostly to make watching instructional videos in the workshop or kitchen that much easier. It works well in this roll as it is simply to move from room to room but of course doesn't have a way to rotate the screen (always in landscape) so anything you would watch vertically is using just the middle of the screen and only marginally larger than the phone screen. The good news is most videos allow you to rotate the phone and watch in landscape mode so this isn't a problem for the majority of content I would want. Note that if you have a Android or iPhone 15 you can connect directly with the included cable to the usb-c port of your device and it works fine, if you have an older iPhone you'd need a lightning/HDMI adaptor but those are readily available.

    Keep in mind this monitor is 1080p so there is a fair chance it will not look as sharp nor the colors quite as vivid as many of the displays you are used to (including the phone) but for my purposes it works just fine. The included speakers are a nice touch and work well enough for educational type content but are inadequate if you plan to listen to much music, you'll want headphones or other external audio for that.

    All in all pleased with the ease of use and portability. The included magnetic cover/stand is a nice touch as are the cables and the power brick which is often not in the box these days. I don't feel it is a real value at $130 (at the time of this review) so I can't give 5 stars but I will continue using it and feel it earns 4 easily enough.
