I moved into a "casita" a few weeks ago - basically a small studio on someone else's property. WiFi is included in the rent, but it was a *very* weak & unstable connection in the casita & I've been STRUGGLING. I had to hold my laptop in certain spots to try to browse the internet or use my phone as a hotspot - which didn't last for long because even though I have unlimited data, it gets slower after a certain amount of usage & I had hit that wall & it wasn't going to get reset for another 2 weeks. I had to turn all of my streaming video quality settings to the lowest bit rate & it was still frustrating & unwatchable - stopping to load every few minutes.

In a nutshell, it was impossible to live with.

I got this router because the reviews were all pretty encouraging & the price was really great compared to others, especially since I got it on sale for $20.

It arrived quicker than expected. I plugged it in & downloaded the app & crossed my fingers. I know it's supposed to be set up initially next to the router, but I was really hoping that I could catch enough signal to get it set up without bothering my landlords & going into their house.

      Long story short, IT WORKED!

When I plugged it into the outlet in the bathroom, it got just enough signal to catch on & then I could plug it in anywhere & connect with a FULL WiFi signal!!

I'm so so so happy. I tested it with streaming videos & music & everything & it is SOLID.

If you need to extend your WiFi in your house for any reason, do not hesitate to get this WiFi extender.

      Update:
Y'ALL I was connected to the house Wi-Fi in my car, parked out *on the street* where before I could barely connect at all 30 feet closer to it. That's amazing! Very *very* happy with this purchase!

I bought two of these to go with my TP Link router to get better coverage for my security cameras (also TP Link) and these were a breeze to set up. I didn’t realize they were WiFi 5, but 5 is still faster than my internet service so no issues there. Range is very good, my garage is about 75 feet behind my house and I have a camera back there, no issues with signal drop or anything with the camera. If I needed to increase the size of my WiFi network I would buy another, but I now have WiFi on my entire property so I can’t justify getting another. Another great product from TP Link. Since I have all TP Link equipment I can’t speak to the ease of setting up with other manufacturers, but it was an absolute breeze with the app and other TP Link devices that support their mesh functionality.

I bought the TP-Link AC1200 WiFi Extender for my home, and it’s been a game-changer for improving my wireless signal. I was dealing with several dead zones, especially in upstairs rooms and out on the patio, and this extender has made a huge difference.

The dual-band support (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) helps keep my connection fast and stable. I’ve noticed much better speeds, especially when streaming or working on video calls, with speeds up to 1.2 Gbps. It covers up to 1500 square feet, which is plenty for my house, and it supports up to 30 devices without slowing down.

Setup was super simple—I followed the instructions, and it connected to my existing router in just a few minutes. The compact design plugs directly into the wall and doesn’t take up much space.

It’s definitely one of the best WiFi extenders I’ve tried for the price, and it’s helped eliminate the frustration of dropped signals in certain rooms.

      Pros:

✅ Strong signal boost eliminates dead zones
✅ Dual-band support for faster speeds and less interference
✅ Easy setup and user-friendly interface
✅ Compact design plugs into the wall
✅ Covers up to 1500 square feet and 30 devices

      Cons:

❌ Speed drops slightly at the farthest distance
❌ No Ethernet port for wired connections

Our smart TV hasn’t stayed connected to the wifi in weeks, this was our last resort before buying a new one. I’ve never used a WiFi extension but this device couldn’t have been easier to install and it connected our TV immediately. Set up only took me about 15 minutes, the instructions on paper and in the app are all clear and simple so if you’ve ever used tech in the last decade you’ll be fine. I’d say it’s more than worth the price if you have any dead zones in your house as it works perfectly for us.

This works awesome, and for $20! I don't have a huge house, but I've got an old router and some weird corners that created a dead zone in the room that was to be the office. Kind of a big problem. I tried this not expecting amazing results, but it is wonderful! I did not realize how much my service had been affected throughout other part of the house. It's like having the router in every part of the house. The set up was super easy with the app (same app as my router). Plug it in and done.

I purchased this device to replace a much more costly extender that had failed. I use this extender to access a number of devices: cameras, switches and receptacles in my detached garage. This area is not a conditioned space and gets very hot in the summer and very cold in the winter. It was very easy to set up and so far has been extremely stable on the network. Video from the cameras is without buffer at 2K. I would recommend this extender as a price effective solution.

5.0 out of 5 stars Paired with TP-Link router, EasyMesh works seamlessly
Reviewed in Canada on August 19, 2024
      Style: Wi-Fi 5 AC1200Verified Purchase
After installing a brand new TP-Link AXE75 (AX5400) WiFi 6E wireless router, I will still getting weak spots in the some rooms. I was hoping this would fix the issues with my Linksys Atlas mesh wireless network, which had good range but devices kept binding to a weaker node and wasn't switching nodes seamlessly. After doing some research, I bought this TP-Link RE315 Range Extender because it could work with my router using TP-Link's OneMesh/EasyMesh system. I was a bit skeptical given my bad experience with the Linksys mesh system. Setup was incredibly simple, I plugged the RE315 into a power outlet that was more central in my home, on a different floor from router. Pressed the WPS buttons on both the router and range extender and after a couple of minutes, they paired and the RE315 extended my 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks. Using my router's web interface, I could see the RE315 as a "Mesh device".

To test, I used my Pixel 6 and the WiFi Analyzer app on 5GHz network. With this phone on my previous Linksys Atlas mesh, it would bind to a node but wouldn't switch to the stronger node, even if I was 1 ft away from it. I had to turn off WiFi and turn it back on before it bound to nearest node. With my TP-Link EasyMesh setup, I could see my Pixel 6 was connected to the AXE75 router. As a moved downstairs and was a few feet away from RE315, I saw the connection switch to the range extender. It was completely seamless and I didn't lose the WiFi network, it just switched. With WiFi Analyzer, I could tell which network device I was connected to based on Mac address and IP. Onto an Internet speed test. Connected upstairs to AXE75, I was getting 600 Mbps down, 300 Mbps up on and 1Gbps Internet. Connected to the RE315, I was only getting 90 Mbps down, 60 Mbps up, which seems slow but I was expecting that with range extender as half the bandwidth is connecting to the main router, while other half is for clients. This is also a WiFi 5 AC1200 ranger extender, compared to my WiFi 6E AX router. So I was pleased with this performance since the area I was getting the dead spots in, I was now seeing full strength with good speeds, which is much better than dropped connections I was getting not using the range extender, or with my previous Linksys Atlas mesh.

Paired with TP-Link router, EasyMesh works seamlessly
