I was not a huge fan of the Upgrated Chicken Shredder, Large Quick 3 Layer Kitchen Chicken Breast Shredder Tool Twist, Meat Grinder Tool for Effortless Smashing, Transparent Lid, Easy to Use with Non-Slip Design. It comes unassembled – you have to insert the knobs into the top piece. The first side went in and ‘clicked’ with very little effort. The second side was a bit harder and when it did connect, something broke resulting in 2 small shreds of plastic. The item was still functional, the pieces came from the inner tube. Pros: this does make quick work of breaking apart cooked chicken breasts. Cons: it really does not ‘shred’ the chicken on its own. You have to keep opening and repositions the larger pieces to get them broken up. Even after several attempts, I still had super long pieces of chicken. While the inner tray does come out so you can used a spoon or spatula to get out the cooked chicken, I found that the ‘teeth’ of the device did hold on to chicken and I had to pick it out. Overall, this does not work as well as I had hoped and it’s a bit messy to clean up. While it does break up the chicken, it does not fully shred it.
