Do You Remember?: A gripping psychological thriller Paperback – January 10, 2022
Purchase options and add-ons
She can’t recognize her home. Her bedroom is unfamiliar. And she can’t remember the handsome stranger lying next to her in bed. A stranger who claims he’s her husband.
Tess reads a letter in her own handwriting, composed during a rare lucid day, explaining her life as it now exists: She was in a terrible car accident one year ago. Every morning, she wakes up unable to remember most of the last decade. Including her own wedding.
Tess has no choice but to accept her new life and hope her memory will return. After all, why should she doubt the letter she wrote to herself? Or the kind man from the wedding photos on her dresser who seems to genuinely care about her well-being?
And then Tess receives a text message on her phone. One that changes everything:
"Don’t trust the man who calls himself your husband."

- Reviewed in the United States on April 14, 2025The plot and characters were easy to follow since the book was written in the film style of Groundhog Day with Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell. It's a rom-com about how a cynical TV weatherman finds himself reliving the same day over and over again when he goes on location to the small town of Punxsutawney to film a report about their annual Groundhog Day. His predicament drives him to distraction until he sees a way of turning the situation to his advantage. This book seemed more like a cozy mystery than all of Freida McFadden's other books.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 10, 2025i've read a lot of freida, and this one was just okay for me. i enjoyed the plot and the writing style, but the twists just didn't hit like they have in other freida books. it was also a bit repetitive but i know that was necessary for the story. nothing shocked me during this book, and that's what i generally enjoy about freida books
- Reviewed in the United States on April 30, 2025What a ride! This book is amazing. With all the plot twists and characters acting shady, I didn’t see how this was going to wrap up. And the ending certainly did not disappoint. This is a must-read. I recommend.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 16, 2025I love this author but not this book. It's not bad. Just not what I've come to expect in regards to the twists, turn to, and unputdownable fast paced thriller I've come to expect from McFadden.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 25, 2025Kept me on the edge of my seat. I got fustrated at times with the mmc. But I had to tell myself to remember what happened. You ever catch yourself yelling at a character in a book? Yea that was me with this one. Great read, I loved the ending. I love when a book explains in the kast chapter. Freida you did it again!!!!! Xoxoxo
- Reviewed in the United States on March 29, 2025This book was really creative and I looked forward to reading it each night. The only reason for the 4 stars is that I felt it was a bit of a tedious read in the middle where each day was running into the next with details about the daily moments. I felt like I wanted to skip ahead a couple pages sometimes. However, Freida McFadden is a solid writer who never disappoints.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 18, 2025What a great story! Well, written, made my breath stop several times, then hyperventilate because of spoilers I cannot say here. I will say I was beginning to get a little tired of the repetition of the beginning of a couple of chapters but, you could tell she was aware of it and made sure it was not drawn out for too long. Seriously, a really great read!!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 24, 2025I've read all of her books thus far. This was my favorite it was a page-turner my only complaint was the ending was a little bit confusing. Otherwise a great book.
Update
I don't know how I found it but eventually I read the explanation of why I was confused at the ending. Many other people were also confused and it was our fault LOL I'm glad that she also commented about the typos. I am the type of person to see every mistake in a book usually there's only one or two. But in her books there's a lot of typos but it's nice that she's aware of it and from now on I will keep track of what they are and let her know.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wicked
What a truly good story. image waking up.daily not knowing who you are. Everything is fine and a stranger in your home.

4.0 out of 5 stars Freida McFadden does not disappoint
As always, Freida McFadden does not disappoint.
An impeccable writing style that makes you enjoy the book a thousand times more, a story that captivates you from the first chapter and keeps you on the edge of your seat until the end.
The only downside I have for this book is that the plot twist at the end did not leave me with my mouth open as on other occasions, I expected it and my suspicions were well on track from the beginning of the story.
But it was still a very good read and I recommend it to all lovers of psychological thrillers.

5.0 out of 5 stars
Tess
Tess

5.0 out of 5 stars Freida McFadden is my new obsession.
Loved this book. I have been reading Freida McFadden books non-stop since I discovered her after reading “The Housemaid”, and boy - I just can’t put them down. “Do You Remember” made me wish Tess was my friend and that I could just sit and enjoy an afternoon with her. Loved it. Definitely 5 stars.
