While I’m not sure that you can’t accomplish the same “Stay Open” results from a normal ZipLoc freezer bag, I nonetheless appreciate the marketing to educate people on this super useful trick for filling bags without assistance. Again, I have tried this on bags without the grid pattern base and the same result seems possible. That being said, these do seem easier to accomplish that goal and I’m not sure that the cost is any different.
More importantly for most people is likely the value. For online pricing, this bundle seems like a fairly good price. We seem to go through more gallon sizes than any-other so finding a large bulk quantity like this is great in my opinion. Not really different
These new freezer Ziploc bags advertise 2 new features. A stand-up design and a folding opening. These 2 new features doesn't really seem as useful as it could be as the bag does not stand better and the fold open maybe only seems a little easier, but I could be mistaken. The difference I can easily notice is the bottom now has some extra texture on the bag that could maybe be prefolds in the bag. It does not open wider or anything like their other stand and fill design. The fold open also looks like it has a pre folded line but it didn't seem much easier to do. The Ziploc bag does still have a nice thick freezer quality to the bag. The zipper end is thicker and has a strong zipper hold. I wouldn't pay any extra for the new design but if this is on sale to be a value price, I wouldn't hesitate to pick up some more.
