This works perfect in my kitchen as a small fruit bowl. The mango wood has natural variations of brown, beige, tan, gray, yellow and occasional pink. The odd yellow and pink only stand out if you look closely. The ribbed style adds texture, but doesn't look busy. The mango wood is very hard/durable, similar to oak hardness.
The size easily fits up to 8 granny smith apples. The Gresorth artificial apples are a perfect realistic filler. (See pics.)
CARE TIP - AVOID CRACKING: If mango wood dries out too much, it will crack. Wipe down gently with an appropriate cutting board oil (almond oil, avocado oil, food grade mineral oil, etc.) REGULARLY and after any washing to ensure the wood is sealed and adequately conditioned.
NOTE: If you're looking to match wood species, dried out acacia wood often looks very similar to mango wood. (Oiled acacia wood is much darker with more red/orange tones.)
Overall, the style and durability is perfect. Although it is pricy for a small bowl, I still highly recommend!

Wasn't sure what to expect as I was not familiar with mango wood. I was looking for a new centerpiece for dining table. I was extremely surprised with this bowl. The varying shades of the wood add to the beauty of the piece. I think it would adapt to any décor (rustic, contemporary, traditional, etc.). I have it on my dining room table, but it would also look great on the kitchen counter or a shelf. Looks more expensive than what i paid for it. Great buy! I am very happy with this purchase.
