But this thing is heaven sent! I'd been using a chef's knife and a cutting board to cut corn from the cob all this time and it was flying all over my kitchen every time. It was such a pain! Also, in certain places, I'd cut too deep and in others, I wouldn't cut deep enough and wasted some of the corn. I finally suckered for this and boy am I glad I did! I had five ears of corn and turned them into flawless kernels contained in a medium stainless steel bowl and perfectly-cleaned cobs, all in less than 5 minutes. This will get SO much use in the summers. I like to push the cutter down over the bowl as I push/twist the corn cob up. It's hard to explain, but I'm sure there's no wrong way to do it. I'll update if it breaks soon, but it seems really sturdy. Buy it! It also cleans super easily, without any corn fragments getting stuck!

So much easier than hand cutting

It was very effective and made removing kernels much faster. The only caveat is if you have a smaller, skinnier cob of corn, it does get to the bottom of the kernels so you lose some of the food. I had to run a knife down to capture what was missed. With a fat cob, it won’t slide down so you can’t use it. Having said that, I love it. As for cleaning, you need to get in and around the blade. Just watch your fingers. Kernels can get stuck so don’t run your finger along the blade as you can get cut.

So let's start by saying that this gadget seriously did some damage. It's survived 80+ ears of corn which yielded about 28 cups. It was relatively easy to use however had its flaws. For the most part, it removed the kernels flawlessly. There wasn't much waste left behind in the mid section to the end. However, it at times missed quite a bit at the narrowest part of the cob. We went back through and focused the edge on each side and cleaned it up. The other challenge was removing the gadget from the thickest end without practically throwing corn. It took some practice but you were able to control it a bit more by slowly rotating the cob and striper in opposite directions until it basically twisted off. Overall, well worth the money! I couldn't imagine stripping the kernels by knife. It held up great, will be used again and is definitely something I'd buy again!

This is a great tool if your corn cobs are exactly the size of the stripper. But if the cobs are wider, they won’t fit through. If they are narrower, most of the kernels will remain on the cob. The stripper should expand with the size of the ear to work properly but it doesn’t. It’s a waste of money.

I don't like "uni-taskers", but if you like corn, this is an exception. What a wonderful surprise. I ordered it with some skepticism, but it was inexpensive, so I thought why not? I love fresh corn and it's a hassle for me to cut it off the cob evenly so I rarely buy it on the cob. I bought 10 ears to make a Mexican street corn casserole and wanted to roast the corn on my grill first so I did that, and then let it cool and this gadget just knocked it out in 5 minutes flat! It works! My advise, is watch the video on their page. I watched it about 5 time and did it just like she did. Do it just like that and it works! It did for me!

Put the corn cob in the end with the metal teeth pointing up. Push and keep twisting the cob as the kernels fall off effortlessly. Near the end of the cob reverse your hands and get every single kernel! My husband has a disability and can’t eat the corn on the cob. I was cutting it off with a knife using a Bundt pan to hold and catch the kernels and I thought that was the best I could do. This is so fast and so efficient. Truly amazing! Highly recommend it!

I bought this as I grow my own corn and every year I'm pushed for space in the freezer, so I figured stripping the corn first would help. Doing it with a knife is laborious and hardly worth the effort, so I tried this.

It works exactly how you would hope it would. It quickly and efficiently strips a cob in seconds. The serrated blade, whilst not actually sharp, does a good job so all you have to do is apply a small amount of pressure, twist and the kernels fly off.

My only criticism is that the plastic is difficult to grip if you're using it for more than one cob. I had to keep rinsing it so that my hand didn't keep slipping. But apart from that it was perfect. I'm not one for kitchen gadgets but this is a must if you intend to use it.
