I cannot stop raving about my new Maya Lumbini meditation cushion! The first thing I noticed when I took it out of the box was how lightweight it was and how sturdy and beautiful the handle is. It is hands-down the most comfortable, sturdy & supportive Meditation Cushion I have ever sat on over 33 years of practice and sitting in innumerous meditation halls and centers (with different varieties of cushions). The cushion has an organic cover and is generously packed with Maya Kapok (hypoallergenic, anti mold and antibacterial). The cushion is soft yet firm (the first firm cushion I’ve found) which allows me to sit in half lotus without pain or discomfort in my knees! It is absolutely divine to meditate on. The cushion is maintaining its firmness - I sit daily once or twice a day (25-50 min at a time) and have owned the cushion for two weeks now. The round (Bodhi) meditation cushion comes in two sizes (the one in my photo is the medium size) and there is also a crescent shape. I think all meditation centers should use and carry Maya Lumbini cushions. I highly and very enthusiastically recommend the Maya Lumbini Bodhi cushion and their entire line!     I wasn't happy with an artificial fiber pillow I purchased to practice zazen, it did not provide correct support when using proper sitting techniques. I tried searching for natural fillings, but many were seeds or other material that I was concerned would not feel right. Reading more about the original zen cushions, I learned that they were Kapok filled. And searching for that I found Maya Lumbini! And I'm so happy I did--it is easy to sit in the morning and evenings with this pillow, I'm not light (230 lbs), and it continues to support me and help me focus on just sitting rather than trying to get comfortable. If you want to just sit, I'd get it!

    Listen, this zafu and zabuton set are wonderful but I’d buy this set 100 more times because of the honesty and quality of the company.
    First, the product itself is outstanding. When they say “no back pain” they can stand by that. I have severe damage around my L5 and S1 vertebrae and deal with chronic, daily pain in my lower back. I didn’t think I’d be able to sit on this zafu for any length of time but I haven’t had any trouble sitting on this. If it wasn’t so difficult for me to get off the floor with my bad back I would use this zafu as my primary seat. It puts your spine in correct alignment and posture instantly.
    Additionally, the zabuton is great for preventing your ankles and knees from digging into the ground. My husband is 6’6 and he even fits on the zabuton just fine.
    Yes, my zabuton came with adhesive tape, which seemed like a poor choice. I was so unbothered by it that I bought a second set of zafu and zabuton for my husband.
    THE SELLER REACHED OUT TO ME and asked to confirm my shipping address because THEY found the tape unacceptable. They promptly sent me 2 brand new zabuton covers for free because that’s how much this company cares about their product and customer satisfaction. I genuinely could not be more impressed with their level of integrity and for that reason alone I would happily purchase from this company again!
    But also the zafu and zabuton are wonderful products so you should get them anyway.

    I was so excited to buy this, along with the crescent and zabuton. While I love the look of it, it's just not at all good quality especially for the price. It's lumpy,uneven and caves quite badly under pressure. There are also some small spots of discoloration on the zabuton. It's also not even 6" in height.

It never once has flattened out. I'm so happy with them. The round cushion is perfect for kids or anyone on the petite side. My daughters use it all the time with me and I love teaching them a bit of mindfulness on a cushion that's comfortable for them!

    This brand carries some of the most supportive meditation pillows I've tried. I have been using them my whole pregnancy and I'm so impressed that they keep their form and shape. It never once has flattened out. I'm so happy with them. The round cushion is perfect for kids or anyone on the petite side. My daughters use it all the time with me and I love teaching them a bit of mindfulness on a cushion that's comfortable for them!

    My first review was a 2 star review. In it, I stated: "Too high…Maybe I got the wrong size but it’s very uncomfortable for me."

    This is an update as of 22 March 2023:

    After reviewing this product, the co-owner (Charlotte) contacted me to see if I wanted a refund a replacement for a different cushion or for something else in their store catalog. I was surprised! Was refunded full price. I didn't even have to go through the hassle of returning the item. It's nice to know that there are sellers who really care about customer satisfaction. There are absolutely no defects in the product itself... it just didn't work for me.

    It's way too hard. Their website, where they may offer tips on how to break the zafu in, has been taken down. I've used a zafu to meditate for decades, without pain of any kind. But this zafu is very uncomfortable.

    I like how comfortable the product is. I would have absolutely loved it if the outer material was better - from the images, it looks like it has a nice sheen on it? But it's 'dusty' and the black is dull looking - I guess I thought it would've looked and felt luxurious (smoother, shinier or very black). Also arrived with a really funky smell - might just be the manufacturing process and I've ordered another Maya Lumbini product separately and had the same issue. Aired it out for a few days and that seems to have done the trick.
