I bought these placemats to use to line the shelves of a small bookcase, and am very pleased with them. Love the colors, and the price is excellent. Only downside is that when I got them and held them up in sunlight, it was difficult to see the different colors. Maybe not a good idea for sunlit areas?

Elegant placemats make for a beautiful table
Spruce up your kitchen or dining room table with these elegant looking placemats.My wife and I were pleasantly surprised when we opened up the package containing these beautiful placemats. There are 4, 12" x 17 3/4" rectangular mats included in this set. We ordered the golden color and they are quite attractive and make for a very fancy looking table. The placemats appear as if they are woven linen even though the material is just textured PVC. Cleaning is easy with a swipe of a damp cloth. For tougher, crusted stains, use a small toothbrush and gently scrub the soiled area. The item description claims the placemats are waterproof. I poured water on the mat, and at first it beaded on the surface and then slowly seeped through to the table. This item is not waterproof. These placemats are heat resistant and will protect your table from scratches. They lay flat and do not slide around. We placed them one on top of the other for easy storage. One other note, the description states that the mats are wrinkle free. The placemats we received, arrived in a flexible envelope with the product folded in half. We unfolded the mats and laid them flat. After a few days, the crease is still present on all of the mats (see photo). That said, for a luxurious looking table setting, these placemats are a great buy for the price.
