After trying the original blend in a travel size, I fell in love and needed MORE! Though, I thought I may need a little more hold for my curls and thus I decided to try this gel. I can honestly say I don't like it as much as the original, due to the thickness of the gel. It seems to be too strong, where it will leave my hair "crunchy" in places even when I put it in while my hair is wet (as directed). The original Curl Keeper is a bit more loose or 'watery' type of gel, which I feel gives my hair more bounce and the ability to re-style with more freedom when needed.

It's a great product, don't get me wrong-- it keeps my natural curls tamed! But if you're looking for something light, this may not be your best choice. Go for the original.
