- Reviewed in the United States on February 17, 2021Format: HardcoverVerified PurchaseLots of fun graphics and what child doesn't like dinosaurs?
She thoroughly enjoyed it. Can't wait for next holiday season.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 13, 2020Format: HardcoverOh no, Santa is stuck on Christmas Eve, what will he do? It is the Dinosaur Rescue to save the day. They arrive in a variety of things--snow mobiles, heavy machinery, hover crafts and many more—all to free Santa. There are so many machines, dinosaurs, and work that children will feel the excitement jump off the pages as they all pitch in to save old Saint Nick and Christmas.
Bright illustrations enhance every page of the story in this over-sized, hard-backed picture book. Little ones will love to have this during Christmas, but the enthusiasm of the season comes through any time of the year. Children will be thrilled with the ending, along with the pictures that illustrate it. This 5-star book is filled with happiness, and is recommended for two to five-year olds.
Candlewick Press has provided Tickmenot with a complimentary copy of, Dinosaur Christmas!, for the purpose of review. I have not been compensated in any other manner. All opinions expressed are my own, and I was not required, or influenced, to give anything but an honest appraisal. - Reviewed in the United States on December 20, 2020Format: HardcoverVerified PurchaseThe illustration is beautiful but the story is terrible. It is not even a story. It is not even written in complete sentences.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 23, 2020Format: HardcoverVerified Purchasethis is not a piece of art. but for the dino loving toddler in your family? this is full of dinos helping santa. the front inside cover showcases which dinos are involved and the back inside cover showcases which sort of "heavy equipment" is involved in rescuing santa. it's pretty much a very basic book that i'd usually dismiss but i have a 3 year old grandson who thrives on dinosaurs and he loves this book. it's sturdy and large, the pages are not flimsy. and good thing the book did not forget to include T Rex in Santa's rescue.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 12, 2023Format: HardcoverTotally disjointed, no story line, ridiculous and random assortment of dinosaurs, trucks, and Santa. A three year-old could come up with a more cohesive story to bring all these elements together. Unfortunately, I do not think any three year-olds were consulted in the writing of this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 15, 2020Format: HardcoverWhen Santa's sleigh gets stuck in the snow, he calls a dinosaur rescue crew for help. Catchy refrains and fun sounds lead the dinosaurs to the North Pole to save Santa and Christmas. Plowing roads, whizzing on snowmobiles, zooming on a hovercraft, and searching for Santa's house all play a part in the dinosaurs' adventures. (That hovercraft is pretty awesome!). Young dinosaur and vehicle lovers will get an especially big kick out of reading this tale of rescue and holiday fun. Dale's detailed illustrations offer much to be discussed and admired. The end papers identify each type of dinosaur (front) and each type of vehicle (back) so that young readers can correctly identify them. A fun holiday tale blending several winning ideas (you can't lose with Christmas, dinosaurs, and vehicles).
- Reviewed in the United States on December 20, 2022Format: HardcoverThis was a weird book in my eyes. It seemed like they were trying to shove dinosaurs, transportation, and Christmas all in one book and hoping that it makes sense. To me it did not make since and I felt like there wasn't even a good plot. I felt like everyone was shoved in. Even my kids were confused by this book. Cassie didn't want to even finish this book, but we did. The illustrations are really neat and we liked looking at them on each page. I don't recommend checking this book out.
