Start combing from the ends and work your way up to avoid hair breakage. This is very easy and intuitive to use, and though it doesn't need any instructions, they included a little basic information on use. I have very wild curly hair and I can use this on my hair easily but it would be even easier on straight hair. The only thing I would consider changing if I were the manufacturer/seller is the color. This is an extremely bright hot pink, which for some people is great, but many people would probably prefer to have more options available for other colors, especially if they won't be tucking these items away in a drawer. I would prefer not to put these in a drawer as I'll use them more if I see them, but the color is not one I want to leave out as it clashes with pretty mucg everything else I own, so this will go in a drawer with brushes and other hair tools. It is a great kit, and it works well, it's just aesthetically unappealing for me.

    I got these products to use with my 4 yr old and 12 yr old daughters. The plastic is on the flimsy side, so it bends a lot. That does make pulling hair through a bit more challenging. I would say it's a good beginner set to play with, but don't expect salon quality products.

    This set is great for doing kids hair. The variety is perfect for the common hairstyles little girls love. The topsy tail things make flipping ponytails through so much neater & cleaner than doing it “free hand”. I like the metal tips on the combs because they don’t become easily warped or chipped like my plastic ones as well. The bristles are tightly packed & even, I use these frequently & none have fallen out or bent etc.
