Stan Lee (1922- 2018) and artist Jack Kirby made comic book history in 1961 with The Fantastic Four #1. Lee oversaw the adventures of many super hero creations for over a decade before handing over the editorial reins at Marvel to others. For the remainder of his long life, he continued to serve as a creative figurehead at Marvel and an ambassador for the comics medium.

Nevertheless: Having begun his career with wartime Timely Comics and staying the course throughout the Atlas era, Stan the Man made comic-book history with Fantastic Four #1, harbinger of a bold new perspective in story writing that endures to this day. With some of the industry’s greatest artists, he introduced hero after hero in Incredible Hulk, Amazing Spider-Man, X-Men and more — forming a shared universe for rival publishers to measure themselves against. After an almost literal lifetime of writing and editing, Lee entered new entertainment fields and earned Marvel one opportunity after another. He remains one of Marvel’s best-known public representatives.

He has also written for CNN, BBC and Nat Geo, and chased hobbits on the red carpet in New Zealand before finally returning to a life-long passion: Star Wars. Say you don’t feel like buying $10,000 worth Graphic Novels” through the MU. Just buy this encyclopedia, the back stories of the best and brightest sagas and arcs since 1961 when Stan Lee created some of the greatest literature to ever exist. Total Nerdvana!
Marvel Universe geeks from the 90’s and before to relive the good old days, back when peace, prosperity, and freedom carried the day, everyday.

Today in 2022 it feels like we live in a Philip K. Dick novel. Read •Scanner Darkly• or •Simalacra•recommended read*

This Book is worth more than the price offered GUARANTEED! And will continue to be collectible, even to a beginning fan or someone like I was, someone who collected Marvel Universe Trading Cards back in the day, anyhoo the back of the cards would have the hero or villains and it would show the statistics of STRENGTH, DURABILITY, AGILITY, FIGHTING ABILITY, STAMINA/ENDURANCE & INTELLIGENCE if I recall. Did collect some comics here and there but too hard to stay with a saga with a 16page fly-swatter book, lol. So then movies were hit or miss on the correct mythology and whiffed time after time with Production Companies fighting for character rights, SILVER SURFER NEEDS A REBOOT PLEASE ON BIG SCREEN, and so it right or don’t do it all Kevin Fiege. I hear they are finally consolidating the entire MCU aka this BOOK.
But just more multiverses just makes it harder to decipher who’s universe is who’s. “Infinity War & Endgame” was great but it could of been better if you could imagine?!! A few of the build up movies were ok but wasn’t as great as these writers like the “Writer: StanLee with Illustrator: Kirby” and the reboot writers of 1991 that Marvel really hit which spawned the coolest graphic novels and universe in all of literature, when staying in comic genre.

•Philip K. Dick and his novel multi-universes are influential with MARVEL, just planting the idea seed for anyone reading this, before they edit or remove PKD books forever i suggest doing a deep dive into his work if your wondering why big cities are the way they are. No pictures, but if you have an attention span for a multi-verse without a filter whatsoever and a imaginative speculation of
“WHAT IF”?!

PHILIP K DiCK sparked all literary masters that something as complex as a “Multi-Verse” could even exist in the first place. His short story hard book is wordvana to the fullest, so many writers copied or imo was plagiarized so much. He didn’t see much success as novelist, but his books make Nastradramus look like a weather man forecasting tomorrow’s forecast. If you read this message word for word, you have enough command of English language to understand PKD and how applicable his writings are becoming manifested in reality imo

Some reviewers complained about the condition this book arrived in. However, mine arrived in perfect condition, and this may be the result of ordering it along with another book, so the box was less minimal. I could be wrong, but I think you should order another item at the same time, because this is a very heavy book so I can only imagine what ways it may be dropped that could damage it in transit.

Content-wise, if you are even considering this book at all then you will likely get enough out of it to far exceed the price tag. This thing will take you over an hour just to read the names of all the characters. This is completely amazing and I am so glad I got it. Some commenters said the imagery was too extreme for young kids, but the images are tiny, and the only graphic violence I saw was a Wolverine claw through a shoulder blade with no blood and the image is like a couple of inches big, at most. The biographies and various stories are quite violent, however. I do adapt a lot of words as I read it, to soften the violence a bit, but this is all fairly easy to do. I have no regrets. My son and I will enjoy this for our whole lifetime, I expect.

Love love this book! But even with just regular use the front and back covers end up falling off. We love the content but wish it was a little more durable. My grandson is 10, and is not rough on books. He reads them all the time, though, and this is his favorite. Just the act of opening and closing the book repeatedly several times a day wears it out. I was hoping there was a paperback version.
