So I took a chance. I saw a ton of reviews saying no matter the pen, they could not get the ink to stay. I was worried because these were so cheap that they were just very poor quality.

After some research, I found that you have to use a pen with oil based ink for transparent sticky notes. Or a regular rollerball pen. So I tried it. As you can see in the video, the only two that worked were the regular rollerball pen and the sharpie ultra fine permanent marker. I also watched a video of someone using pencil. Gel pens will not work and water based ink will not work. So even though the red sharpie is a fine liner, it’s water based. As long as you don’t mind using rollerball pens, pencils, or oil based ink pens, then you’ll love these!
