There is a slight click sound when you turn on the switch. The switch mounted easily to the wall. The mounting hardware (screws and drywall achors) were included. It can also be mounted with double sided tape. I decided not to use the tape since at some point the batteries for the switch will need to be replaced. The packaging indicated that the batteries should last 5 years! I am going to order another one with 3 switches to operate my Xmas trees. The plug was already paired with the switch so set up was quite easy

      I bought this to control a nightstand lamp that is just a tad out of reach when I’ve already gotten into bed. I know, it doesn’t seem like a big deal, but I can’t tell you how many times I’ve crawled into bed just to have to get out of bed to turn the lamp off lol.

      I love that the outlet is already programmed to the remote; no need to install an app, connect to a network, or use Bluetooth. Simply plug the outlet into your power source, plug the device into the outlet, and you’re good to go! There is zero lag in response time, so when you press the button, the device turns on/off almost immediately. I love that there’s only one button to control the device; no need to actually look at the remote to know that you’re pressing the right button.

      The little remote is magnetic, so it attaches and detaches to the included switch frame, which can be anchored onto the wall. Since I don’t intend on moving the remote, I just stuck a command strip onto the remote, and placed it on the side of my nightstand for easy access.

      Cons:
      - The round outlet plug itself is on the larger side. I have the plug attached to a small power strip, and it takes up the space of 2 outlets due to its size. Not a big deal to me, but something to consider if you’re low on outlets.
      - Price. Considering you can get a 4 pack of smart plugs (that you can control with your phone) for ~$30, I would expect something less technologically advance to cost a little less. At around $20 a piece, it is a tad bit expensive for what it is lol.

      That being said, 10/10 would purchase again!

      The LoraTap remote controlled outlet is pretty much plug-and-play. The remote and the outlet are paired already, so once you plug in your device, you'll be able to turn it on or off with the remote control. The remote is responsive, but I did notice that it will sometimes double-click, causing our lamp to turn on and off very quickly.

      The wall plate can be attached to existing, empty electrical boxes or just attached to a wall. We used the included, double-sided sticky tape to stick ours to the wall next to a light switch. The plate is pretty chunky in order to account for the recessed tray for the remote. Additionally, if you use screwless wall plates, this thing will stand out, even with the screw covers in place.

      There are two magnets in the wall mount that hold the remote in place when docked. The remote uses a single CR2023 coin cell battery.

      The outlet is a bit big and will prevent other large power bricks from fitting on the same wall outlet. I ended up moving ours onto a power strip to keep our outlets useable. Since the remote does not require line-of-sight, you can easily hide away the outlet behind some furniture.

      For the price, this is a really great product that is super easy to set up. It's just an outlet that can be controlled by a remote. There's no "smart" functionality, so you cannot integrate it into your existing smart home system.

      No, I’m not using it to directly shut down my PC.

      I have a unique eGPU setup. After I shut down my PC I needed a way to cut power to the PSU due to my custom setup. I got tired of reaching around to hit the PSU switch on the back. I’m using this outlet switch with a PC configuration using a 750w PSU and 4070 Super GPU. I was initially worried if it could handle the watts and amps but based on my calculations it should be fine and it has worked flawlessly.

      The plug is relatively small and feels quality. Comes with a nice little switch with back magnet which you can mount to an included wall mount or just use the small switch separately.
