I did a lot of research prior to purchasing this ice maker. I knew I wanted nugget ice but I also wanted water line connection and to not spend a fortune. This ice maker makes perfect little nuggets pretty quickly. It is louder than a refrigerator but not terrible. I would liken the sound to a dishwasher.
This is a large appliance so you need to plan for where it will go. I ended up putting it on top of my refrigerator and ran water to it by branching off of the refrigerator supply line. I still use my refrigerator ice maker when larger ice cubes are needed.
The other thing to plan for is where to put all of the ice it makes. You can leave it in the ice maker but it will just melt. I tried the freezer but it freezes together and defeats the joy of soft nugget ice. So I keep a large bin with a lid in my refrigerator and keep it stocked with ice. The continuous water is awesome so I can just turn it on and off whenever I need more ice. I also added an inline filter to my water inlet to make the ice taste even better and hopefully prevent the need to do descaling.

UPDATE: after reaching out to Gevi regarding below they were quick to issue us a replacement ice machine. 5 star customer service! Hoping this one works longer than the previous. We were so excited to receive the Gevi ice maker after an influencer raved about it. However it was too good to be true. We’ve only had our ice maker for less than 5 months and the pump has already failed. It started to make super loud, screeching noises and after doing all the troubleshooting we’ve learned the it’s done. I’ve contacted customer support and waiting to hear back. Overall, don’t buy this brand. Invest in a more reputable brand that will stand the test of time.
