My wife and I absolutely love this 14-Cup Cuisinart Food Processor. We have been improving our cooking and this 14-Cup Cuisinart Food Processor. We chose it because it was recommended by Cooks Illustrated/America’s Test Kitchen, who we really trust and rely on for information and recommendations.
We have used this 14-Cup Cuisinart Food Processor to slice, chop and puree and it works like a charm, making quick work of anything and everything we put into it. It has several safety features to keep it from running unless the bowl and lid are properly attached. If you don’t attach both the bowl and lid it will not operate.
The blades are sharp and easy to clean. There are two different sized feed chutes/plungers and 2 slicing disks along with the cutting blade. The pluse switch is very responsive and works great.
This 14-Cup Cuisinart Food Processor is something needed in every kitchen and is excellent.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 6, 2017Size: 14-CupColor: Stainless SteelVerified Purchase"Oh, I don't need a food processor. I love to chop things by hand! And really, my cheap, tiny blender does just about any job a food processor could do. It's not worth the money!" This has been my mantra for years.
Oh, what a fool I was. What a fool!
A food processor is such a magical device. You can do things with it that are impossible to do without it!
Have you heard of cashew cream sauce? It's fabulous. You soak about two cups of cashews in water for 2 hours, drain and rinse them well, and then toss them in your food processor with a clove or two of peeled garlic, about 2/3 cup of water, and about a teaspoon or so of salt, to taste. Press the power on, and in seconds, you have smooth-bodied, flavourful dip that is extremely versatile. From there, it's all up to your imagination! Add some nutritional yeast to make it taste nice and cheesy, with just a pinch of paprika to bring out those cheesy notes, and serve it with tortilla chips. Or how about a bit of curry powder and some basil to serve with pita chips as a sweet, curry-style dip? Or perhaps you'll use some herbs and pour it over pasta, for a new twist on "lazy pasta night"?
Maybe you're no fan of that idea. Well then, how about making pesto right in your own home? Those tiny bottles in the grocery are never as good as the stuff as you can get in a nice restaurant, and they can be damned pricey for such mediocre flavour. Make it yourself, and be amazed!
Or what about hummus? You can use a method by Kenji Lopez-Alt over at SeriousEats to make tahini sauce with garlic and lemon that makes for a FANTASTIC base for the best hummus of your life (made with, I suggest, the best on the market, and available also here on Amazon: Soom Foods Pure Ground Sesame Tahini 11oz (2 Pack))! Sabra has got NOTHING on homemade hummus.
There's also the sheer joy of buying nuts in bulk, knowing that you're saving quite a bit of money tossing them into your food processor to get chopped rather than buying them pre-chopped. Or you can quickly chop toppings for a salad. There's a lot of chopping this thing can handle that you might not care to handle yourself!
Or, how about this: the best homemade ice cream you've ever had? It's simple; make your custard-style base (I recommend Jeni Britton Bauer's method, Google it or pick up her book here: Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams at Home), freeze it overnight in a big gallon freezer bag laid out flat, and the next day, break it into pieces to throw into your food processor. Then you can whip it to a gorgeous creamy state, add in some flavourings, pour into an ice cream container, and freeze; voila! The best homemade ice cream you've EVER had - guaranteed better than storebought, that's for sure, and a lot healthier, since you're in total control of what goes in it. :)
And I'm sure before I even began to write this review, you had your own ideas. Nut butters? Certainly! How about dough? It can do it! Grating cheese? Well, I prefer an old-fashioned box grater, but if you're tired of washing that ol' beast, absolutely, go for one of these! There's just so many wonderful things you can do with this gorgeous machine; and it's outrageously simple to handle. I've seen a great many food processors in family homes; they're awkward, they're cumbersome, and they're very noisy. This isn't whisper-silent, but I can safely use it all hours of the night without losing a finger or waking my sleeping household.
Now, I must confess I've had precisely one point of frustration with it since I bought it: I opened it up, threw in an ingredient, put the top back on, hit the "ON" button, and.. nothing. I was dumbfounded. Why isn't this brand new machine working?
Turns out, it was a safety feature! I hadn't secured the top, so it didn't come on. And thank goodness! I would've had a big mess on my hands. Knowing that it will simply not turn on if I don't have the top fastened on correctly is a comfort to me; I can get to work and not worry about double-checking that I've put everything back in place just so, and I can trust little ones to put things into it without worrying that they'll get over-excited to turn it on and send ingredients flying around my kitchen! And it's so simple to put together and take apart once you take a few minutes to handle it first-hand.
This is a wonderful machine to aid the home cook, and I believe if you've made it this far in my review, you know I'm right. You deserve this. It'll take a special position in your kitchen, just like a KitchenAid; in fact, a KitchenAid and this food processor have a constant presence on my countertop. If you love to cook, and you love to explore new techniques and recipes, then I beg of you; do yourself a big favour and get this today!

- Reviewed in the United States on April 24, 2025Size: 14-CupColor: Stainless SteelVerified PurchaseThe Cuisinart DFP-14BCNY is a game-changer! It minces, dices, shreds, and kneads dough effortlessly. The 14-cup capacity is perfect for large batches, and the stainless steel build ensures durability. A must-have for every home chef!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 18, 2025Size: 7-CupColor: WhiteVerified PurchaseI’ve been using my 7-Cup Pro Classic regularly—at least three dozen times since purchasing it in late February 2025—and it continues to meet my food processing needs. I prepare whole week meals for 1-2 people, and bake 2-3 times per week.
The wattage, work bowl size, and functions are well-suited for my kitchen, a galley-style space in a 600 sq. ft. NYC apartment. It’s reliable, easy to clean, holds power when fully loaded, and is intuitive to operate. Based on performance, I’m giving it four stars. Why Four Stars?
A few limitations keep it from being perfect:
1. Dishwasher Concerns – I hand wash the work bowl and lid because many reviews report heat warping in the dishwasher. While I don’t mind handwashing, this could be a drawback for frequent users. I will not be dishwashing any components aside from the stainless blade.
2. Durability of Plastic – This is my first personal food processor, but I grew up using a 14-Cup Professional Classic. The older model’s work bowl felt thicker and more durable (on the order of 1 to 2 millimeters thicker), while the 7-Cup Classic’s plastic seems more brittle and prone to cracking. I handle it carefully, but I have prepared myself for the bowl and/or lid to crack from normal use, and well before the motor gives out. Extending bowl thickness, as well as introducing a metal mechanism for the base safety lock, could significantly improve parts longevity.
Conclusion
Despite these minor issues, I strongly recommend the 7-Cup Pro Classic. I chose it over the KitchenAid 7- and 9-Cup processors (reported quality and lid/bowl locking design issues) and the Cuisinart Core Custom 10-Cup (concerns over its plastic clutch/drive system and noise). This model strikes a great balance of performance and size, making it a solid choice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Buen aparato

5.0 out of 5 stars EL MEJOR PROCESADOR DE ALIMENTOS

5.0 out of 5 stars A great little appliance!
Size: 7-CupColor: WhiteVerified PurchaseI bought this food processor to replace one I already had. The one I had previously was exactly the same model and size. I have had three food processors in the last 35 years or so....the first one was a RoboCoupe and that company was bought out by Cuisinart. The last two were Cuisinart...the original one lasted 25 years and needed to be replaced because the bowl cracked. The second one, the Cuisinart one, lasted 11 years and the motor and everything was great, but the bowl cracked. I cook a lot and use the appliance numerous times in a week. It can handle a lot due to the larger motor, has a small footprint for easy storage, and is easy to clean. I like the bowl size of this machine, the size of the motor, and the construction of the machine. There are some cheaper models from Cuisinart that are made entirely of plastic and have very small motors. Buyer beware. I find the bowl capacity good for what I use it for, but I don’t use it for making bread as I have a KitchenAid mixer and due to the issue with the bowl I will not be grating cheese with it or using it for anything that creates quick torque on the bowl. I called to replace the bowl when it cracked, but the suggestion was to replace the bowl and the lids which would have cost almost a hundred dollars. Even though there are a few minor issues, I feel it is a great machine.
