Fast, Quiet Scanner
This scanner seems to work well without a lot of set up, you do have to download the Plustek BookMaker app and to use the scanner you MUST go through this software. This was the only negative point for me because I see it as the weak link. First the positives: Set up was easy, no problems getting the software loaded and working on my first try. Scanner worked very quietly and efficiently. The scanning process automatically assumes multiple pages and gives you a countdown for the next page or you can cancel. (this could be seen as a negative if you are not quick enough to get the next page or to cancel) Seemed pretty easy to export the files to where I wanted them to go Seemed pretty easy to rename files. This scans up to 8.5 x 11" pages The software works but the interface is clunkier than it needs to be and not super intuitive. It's not hard to get used to though. I just worry about losing the thumb drive the software is on if I ever reset my computer. I also worry about the software longevity as Windows keeps coming up with updates.

This is a wonderful and ready to use scanner. Set up is made easy by the manufacturer and the software is great. Resolution of documents scanned is fantastic. As a flat bed scanner it is particularly great for photographs and documents, mot to mention books and transcripts. The software makes cataloging and storing data simple and straight forward. Well constructed and light enough to be portable. A very nice priced scanner for the quality.
