Smells Ah-mazing!!
ETA: I now use only a tablespoon per load and it gets my clothes just as clean and smells the same as when I used 1/4 cup. Only difference now is that it costs significantly less per load! First off, this stuff smells heavenly. I have never smelled a laundry detergent that I would straight up wear if it were a perfume. I read quite a few reviews that said it smelled like an “old lady.” I equate old lady smell to Elizabeth Taylor diamonds perfume. That, or moth balls. It doesn’t smell anything like that. Let me try to describe the smell: It smells super familiar, like a perfume or body wash I’ve used in the past. But I can’t quite place it. It has notes of amber, sandalwood, maybe some patchouli and bergamot. It’s a warm and comforting smell. Definitely not floral. More earthy I guess. Man…I never realized how hard it is to describe a smell. Let’s talk about size and value for your money: I’ve included pictures for size reference. It says it contains 907 grams, when converted to ounces it’s 31.9. So for our purposes I’m going to call it 32 ounces. 8 ounces to a cup mean there are 4 cups of detergent. It says to use 1/3 cup per wash, but I’ve found that 1/4 cup works just as well and stretches how many washes you can get out of it. So I guess that means at 1/4 cup per wash I can get 16 loads out of this detergent. At $24 per bottle, that comes out to $1.50 per load. While the average cost per load is roughly 0.25 cents. So it’s quite a bit more, 6 times more in fact. I only say this because there is no value for your money here. It’s simply an extravagant purchase. Bottom line, I’ll continue to buy it for sure because it smells amazing and I enjoy the little things in life that way. But, just know, it’s expensive as hell for what you get.
