    My original 1963 edition of this book finally fell apart and I was thrilled to find this facsimile copy. This edition looks exactly like the original with exactly the same illustrations and the same terrific recipes. I was especially impressed at the quality of the facsimile - it was so well done that I was unable to find any difference between this volume and the 1963 printing.

    As far as the book itself, it really is the only cooky cookbook a person will ever need. It's filled with hundreds of recipes with easy to follow instructions and common ingredients. Many of the cookies are illustrated too so you'll know what the finished product is supposed to look like. My kids used this book to bake their award winning cookies for 4-H and County Fair competitions; I've also made hundreds of the recipes myself for school & church bake sales with every recipe a crowd pleaser. This book includes a chapter on historical cookies you can make and also contains fantastic icing & frosting recipes for decorating. An excellent book and one that every home baker should own.

    Excited to dive in and use this book for the holidays and make some seriously delightful sweets. My mom made cookies from this book when I was growing up so it’ll be a fun walk down memory lane and taste some treats I haven’t had since childhood.
    One note of caution though- as I was flipping through I noticed pages sticking together! I made a video to show you. So be careful and make sure all the pages are properly separated before you go using the book so you don’t accidentally tear a page out. I did get all the pages separated and a few did tear off their little parts, but in the center, so I’m not too concerned that the page will fall out. 4 stars for pages sticking together and a couple getting little tears while separating. Not a deal breaker, but I will have to be mindful when using this book so it lasts a long while. I’m hoping it does. I paid $20, as it was on sale, and has all the delights I enjoyed as a child, so I do believe I will hang on to this one.
