So I thought this was gonna be a flimsy cheaply made box, as I am not accustomed to buying plastic lunchboxes. When it arrived (overnight!!) I was greatly surprised to see that it is extremely well made, very sturdy and durable. The handle doesn't have a lot of swing space (it is short) but that keeps kids from swinging the lunch box all over the place. The compartments are nicely sized for a variety of foods.
Again, I was shocked at how sturdy it is. We packed a lunch right away and did a few test to make sure the compartments are spill/leak proof. I decided to use jello (just to play it safe). I tossed the lunch box in the air, swing it around and dropped it on the table, after all that, I opened it to find that the jello was 96% still in its compartment, with that being said, I don't think I would put liquids in this lunchbox, humus, pudding and jello would be the extent of it for me.

I have bought a few different lunch boxes for my kids over the last several years. I was excited about the Munchkin model because the parts are top rack dishwasher safe. That is helpful for cleaning! The compartment sizes are larger than some other boxes we've had, and that's a good thing. It's also great to have the fork and spoon to snap in for lunch box items that require a utensil. Great work, Munchkin!

I sold a set of LunchBots metal bento boxes to buy these instead. I needed something with a hinged lid so I didn’t have to worry about keeping track of lids in the car or on picnics. After considering lots of different brands, i’m glad I went with this one. They are a little heavy, as mentioned in other reviews. I did a comparison and they weigh about as much as a 20 oz. can of Dole pineapple tidbits. So if you’re at home and trying to get an idea of the weight, pick up a can and see what you think- but also consider that that’s the dry weight, so it’ll be heavier once it’s full of food. My kids are 3 and 5 and they can carry them just fine in their backpacks at the zoo. They can be a little tricky to close, but just help your child practice and they’ll get the hang of it quickly. It doesn’t have much of an audible “click” when closed, so sometimes my kids aren’t sure whether or not it’s closed all the way. I love the size and that it fits an entire sandwich in the main compartment. The utensils are a nice addition, but we usually pack sandwiches and finger foods so they likely won’t be used much. With all this said, we’re happy with them! If your main goal is to pack something lightweight, this probably isn’t the best option for you. But if you don’t mind that, it’s perfect!

Great lunchbox, it doesn’t leak and ingredients do not mix at all. I love that is deep enough to fit wraps and food that’s a bit higher than just a flat sandwich. Cutlery is amazing quality and very easy to clean as the silicone bit can be removed and all goes in the dishwasher. Can be carried on its own or packed in a lunch box and super resistant.
