Hawkfans, this is good as it gets in this day and age: and this new release is a blast! Brock, 83 yrs young, continues to impress with passioned singing, playing & writing. I've been a fan since '73's Doremi Fasol Latido and this one ranks up there (but not quite with the Lemmy LPs). Through the years I've always read Mike Reed's fine reviews (here) as he always seemed to feel the pulse of the newest Hawk album (besides somehow always owning the new releases before I could get mine ordered lol). In any case, Allmusic's Thom Jurek gives the album a 4-star rating which, for Thom, is fairly high praise.

This new release has nice, clean sonics. Every instrument & voice is extremely clear and the hooks are plenteous. That said, the mix of forlorn lyrics of a spent earth accompanied by music that reflects this mood is one heckuva experience.

However, I do miss the violin of Simon House. He always brings so much to the table and gives the band that sonic edge over all other space rock groups. Also kudos to long-time drummer Richard Chadwick who continues to pound away.

Finally, this effort is not a "play once or twice and put it on the shelf" collection of songs. You'll often find yourself reaching for this one.

I ordered this CD on the day of it's release from Amazon UK after listening to all of it for free on You Tube. It only took 7 days to arrive and had free overseas shipping! What more can one want?!!!!

Yes, it is a winner, which is why I ordered it. I would say that it is the best one that they have released in the last 7-8 years. No filler at all on this one, unlike last year's model that I won't even own. Their resurgence began in 2010 with Blood of The Earth.

The instrumental parts are what make this album fantastic. Leader David Brock is now in his mid-eighties and should just quit trying to sing. However, I find this annoyance to be acceptable on this album.

As usual, I rip all of the tracks from each CD arrival and then change the order of tracks unless it is a concept album or live album. This kind of thing would drive David Brock up the wall on this release, but so what. I am the one who will be listening to a much better arrangement of the tracks that is totally different than this album.

54 minutes in cardboard fold out sleeve. Booklet full of sci fi art work, photos, lyrics. It is just Brock and remaining long term member drummer Chadwick. The trademark 70s to 80s tweets and bleeps that put Hawkwind on the map are spread on many of the tracks. Brock’s voice remains like it was in his prime days and stays consistent in this space rock extravaganza in the old school Hawkwind style. There maybe no space for Hawkwind but not for me there’s always space for their continuing catalog. Thank you Captain Dave Brock and co pilot Richard Chadwick for the cosmic journey and may it never end until the “edge of time”.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Great Album from Hawkwind.

Hawkwind once again on top form on this, their 37th? Studio Album and with their most stable line up that I can remember over their 56 years. It's amazing that Captain Dave Brock can turn our a masterpiece like this in his 84th year. Long may he continue.
The music is classic Hawkwind, with Richard Chadwick laying down fantastic beats on

drums along with Doug Mackinnon on bass. These two seasoned veterans provide the backbone to most of the songs. Magnus Martin excels on guitar, keyboards, vocals and synthetic. The oddly names Thighpaulsandra is very much a keyboard and Synth wizard and coats each track with
magical atmospheric layers of sound. And then there's Dave Brock, the man who has been at the helm of the goodship Hawk2ind since 1969. A fantastic guitarist, songwriter and lyricist. The lyrics are really cool, based on the classic theme of being Lost in Space.
The songs are all interesting and each track is a classic. A fabulous LP from a Fabulous
band. The cover art is the best I've seen for years.

Another great late period Hawkwind album.

Come on, you know what you’re getting with these guys. Space rock riffs, dreamy soundscapes, sound FX. A great album IF you are already a fan.

      Well produced, sounds fantastic.

Will it attract new fans? Nah but that’s not the point now.

Absolute gem of an album , the great Hawkwind deliver again This is one of these releases that has excellent sound quality, even if you happen to own a half decent sound system you will benefit from a great listen Great headphone album as are most of this bands output For me it's one for late night listening !! , so don't hesitate buy it , light the candles, a bit of patchouli incense , open a bottle of Merlot ( yeah I know all that hippy palaver )& let yourself drift back in time , just as well cds don't wear out as I don't think it's going to be far from my player 😀

4.0 out of 5 stars Hawkwind continue their late golden era with another stunning release.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on April 22, 2025
Following up last year's excellent 'Stories From Time and Space' might have been daunting for most bands, coming as it did after 'The Future Never Waits', a very strong offering from 2023. Not so for the good ship Hawkwind. Do not panic! 'There Is No Space For Us' continues to cement what is proving to be something of a late golden age for the space rockers.

Dave Brock has assembled what is probably one of the strongest line-ups in recent times. Last year's album had a mystic, melancholy feel about it. I loved it and it's already among my favourite Hawkwind albums.

This year's offering is sharper, more urgent and full of a wide variety of moods and sounds. It's very much a sister album. Stand out track is 'Changes (Burning Suns and Frozen Waste) that has some heavy moments.

Overall, there are more synths on this album, but still some wonderful guitar, piano and percussion to enjoy. Perhaps the vocals could have been a bit higher in the mix.

My only (minor) gripe is that the vinyl edition has two extra tracks. When the cd edition finishes playing, I felt I wanted the journey to continue. It ends rather abruptly.

However, if you enjoyed the previous albums, you will love this. Hopefully the next one is already in the can for this prolific band.
