Buy these and not the cheaper ones

Buy these and not the cheaper ones
You have a lot of choices in the silicone ice pop mold category. These are the ones to buy, in my opinion. I bought a set of 10 similar, but cheaper, popsicle molds from another Amazon seller. The molds do the job, but are inferior. You can see in the photo these important differences (no, really). These molds are at the top of the photo, the cheaper molds are on the bottom. 1. The bottoms of these molds are rounded; whereas, the other molds have corners. It's way easier to clean a mold with a rounded bottom where popsicle bits (especially fudgsicle bits) and pieces of fruit can get stuck. The molds with corners harbor these little bits and are difficult to clean. 2. The bottom of these molds isn't flat. Again, it's more difficult to clean the cheaper molds because the bottoms are flat and hug close to the popsicle residue at the bottom of the mold. 3. The lids for these molds have more pronounced ridges. You could lay these molds, full of liquid, in your freezer. Laying the cheaper molds flat in your freezer is risky because the lids aren't as tight. 4. These molds stand up easily in between a freezer's grate. If your freezer has a grate in the middle, like a rack, you can prop these molds upright when they're freezing. The molds' wider bottom helps keep the mold from slipping through the grate. The cheaper molds with the flat bottoms slip right through the grate and then the lid pops off. You can circumvent this by providing the molds with something flat under the freezer shelf so they don't tip over, but you still must be careful. I think the silicone quality is good for both popsicle molds. There's no real difference that I can tell. Buy this popsicle mold brand: they're easier to clean and they are easier to use in the freezer.

First, the customer service: This is a small, mom-owned company with wonderful customer service (see their website for more info on her journey to coming up with this product). I thought it was just another China-based company until I got a personal email from the company owner after emailing the company about a defect in one of the pop ice molds in my set. The owner was very thankful for my business and went beyony my expectations in replacing the defective item. Defects just sometimes happens in manufacturing, so that didn't surprise or upset me, but I was super impressed by the customer service when the issue did arise. I wish more companies were like that.

The product: These are well-made, durable, easy to clean (dishwasher or just squish soapy water inside the tube.... Super easy), versatile pop ice molds that fit in the nooks and crannies of your freezer. And if the can't finish it all, just put the car back on (great for younger kids)! I bought a pack of 6 this past summer because I was tired of having to run the plastic molds under hot water to loosen the popsicle, tired of trying to clean the plastic sticks, tired of losing the plastic sticks, tired of the plastic molds breaking, tired of them taking up so much space in my dishwasher and freezer ( and I could never find a flat place for them to sit). I decided to buy more (2 dozen) this winter because my kids needed to have a quick, high protein snack that didn't fill up their stomachs but that they didn't just woof down before swim team practice, and so we thought making a protein shake and making it into popsicles would be a good idea, and it was (each pop ice provides 10 grams of protein!)! As usual, the pop ice molds performed great with no leaks or busts. We did have one with a thin seam (which was absolutely not the norm among the 18 that we own), but the owner is replacing it for us. Some people said in their reviews they have had issues with the tops coming off, but I never have. If you don't feel comfortable laying them down, stand them up in a glass. At least one person who reviewed this product showed a picture of her mold not passing the pinch test (had white if the silicon), but all 18 of mine do, and they are really thick, so I suspect that the one(s) that did not pass the pinch test has an unusual defect, and if that ever happens to you, I suggest contacting the company before reviewing the product, as the owner is very helpful. I'm sure glad I did!

Bottom line: I highly recommend this product for it's ease of use, ease of clean up, ease of storage if the freezer, durability, and awesome customer service.

Love these! I’ve had these since 2017 and used frequently. They are easy to clean, durable, they don’t leak and they are easy to both make ice pops, and I actually also put blended up aloe in them and put them on my face as a frozen aloe bar. I just sent over to my best friend as a recommendation to buy the exact same brand. I hope the durability of the product has stayed the same.

Have had these for a week and have tried a number of recipes in them. I like to make my own healthy treats --- everything from blended fruit juice pops, to green smoothie pops, yogurts, etc. So far here's what I've experienced:

    Pros:
    - Nice size for a treat -- they are about 8" tall and hold about 3 oz of liquid.
    - Keep drips and spills at minimum as you eat b/c all the melt runs back into the container and then you just drink it out at the end.
    - Bright fun colors; kids like that. (me too)
    - Six to a package is a nice number: 4 too few and run out of treats too quickly
    - Easy to wash
    - Manufacturer sent email with getting started recipes which is nice, but kind of spammy b/c more keep coming. Will have to shut it off.

    Cons:
    - Lids are **barely** tight enough. Must be very careful when putting in freezer b/c any bump or tip over will cause lid to leak or come off. Was hoping to just fill them and toss them in the freezer in any nook or cranny as space saver. Manufacturer suggests freezing them on their top (lid part) which does work well, but I put them in a container in case lids pop off. Once frozen can put them in any position.
    - As others mentioned, there was a plastic smell when first received. I soaked them in a bowl of soapy water and baking soda for a few hours and that got rid of most of it. I think the rest will just wear off. I have not noticed a bad taste.

Overall -- I like them and think they will work well for whipping up treats that are something besides sugar dye pops.

Wow - I don't know what I'm more impressed with the product or the company. Let's start with the product. Silicon ice pop makers are so cool because you can basically pack a smoothie in your kids' lunchbox. For my kids, who are major smoothie fans, this means lunch just got a whole lot cooler!

But what I'm really impressed with is the company who makes these ice pop molds. Right after I bought it I received an email from the co-founder, Sarah Turner. She offered tips on how to use them and she is going to send me recipes too. Talk about great customer service and content-marketing. Even though I've had these for just a couple of days they've already won me over as a fan. Here are the tips and suggestions she shared:

"We always recommend washing the ice pops before use. Just run them through the dishwasher and you're ready to go. As an alternative method, you can soak them in hot, soapy water.

Always leave a little room (about an inch) at the top when filling the pops. This leaves room for expansion of the frozen contents and allows the lids to go on nice and tight, preventing any leaks.

We recommend three different freezing options (always make sure the lids are on nice & tight first): 1) Lay the molds on their sides wherever you have room in your freezer. 2) Stand the molds up with the lid side facing down. 3) Prop the molds lid side up in a tall freezer safe container.

We recommend holding the mold near the opening when putting the lid on for better control. This will help prevent any spills.

Running the ice pop under warm water makes it easier to squeeze out the contents when fresh out of the freezer.

Try to rinse out or soak the molds shortly after use to prevent the contents from drying up, making them more difficult to clean."
