- Reviewed in the United States on September 23, 2018We give this to kids aged about 8+ yrs old and we have found it super helpful. Seems to be the age they start having more emotions and asking about borrowing Mommy's "colored chapstick". Easy to read, use, and understand for young kids all the way to teenagers. You learn "emotion regulation" AKA is this really the end of the world or does it just feel that way? The books in this series have gone so well like "Book about You" that we donate many to our state every year for social workers and social services to hand out to kids.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 24, 2017I will highly recommend this to moms who want to make talking to their daughters about girly stuff easy. As your child goes through puberty, there are lots of changes, and the feelings that come with it. Sometimes they are not sure what to say to you, and vice versa. This journal helps your child pen down her thoughts, and when are shared with you, talking becomes easier.
My daughter loves to put her thoughts down, and the best part for her is when we get to discuss feelings that she had spoken about.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 3, 2018I bought this for my very emotional 9 year old little sister who is having a hard time with her feelings. This is going to be GREAT for her to read but also to be interactive since it is a journal. I can't wait to give this to her. I will update once I hear from her how she likes it ( or hear from her/my mom on if it is helpful for her!)
- Reviewed in the United States on September 14, 2021This is a good tool for helping your young ones process feelings. There are quizzes about feelings that don’t give enough options for how someone may feel. But a very good tool to get kids talking about their feelings.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 21, 2017This was a Christmas stocking stuffer for my 9 year old daughter and I'm so glad I bought it for her. Even with all the other "more exciting" gifts she got for Christmas she chose to spend her time on Christmas day writing in this journal for over an hour! I got this feelings journal for her because although I've encouraged her to she hasn't shown any interest in writing in a traditional journal/diary, something about this journal though prompted her to write and I couldn't be happier. She was upset the other day over an argument she got into with a friend of hers, I tried talking to her about it but was unsuccessful. A little bit later in the day she actually brought this journal to me and showed me the "feelings" in her journal that she had checked off and that opened up a discussion between us about what had happened earlier with her friend and why it had upset her so much. Our discussion included what she could do to next time she's in a similar situation and thanks to the journal we talked about why she was feeling the way she was. I really believe my daughter has benefited from writing in this journal and I know it's opened up opportunity's for us to talk about things that in the past I've had a difficult time getting her to talk to me about.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 19, 2014As soon as this journal arrived with our other books, my 9 year old daughter was instantly drawn to The Feelings Book and the Feelings Book Journal. She loves to write in the journal every evening before bedtime. It is perfect for her age level and I highly recommend it as a great companion item to The Feelings Book. The journal has fun, easy topics which guide my daughter in thinking about herself, her friendships, and her feelings about things. We have had some good conversations about both the book and the journal. I am very happy with it.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 12, 2015I bought this for my 8.5 year old daughter. she's always been somewhat of an emotional kid and now that she's getting a little bit older those emotions are increasing a little bit and she struggles to identify them and to put reason behind them. This book has been great because it's assisting in identifying her feelings and putting reason to them. learning healthy coping skills at a young age is really a very important thing. And this book is definitely introducing this for her. I would recommend this book to anybody.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 4, 2013I really like this journal to go with the book. I am a believer in journaling my experinces and feelings and I am encouraging my grandaughter to do that and she like to write about her visits with us now. So I believe this along with the book that goes along with it will guide her to write down her feelings as her body begins to change from 9 years old and up. It helps to understand why you feel the way you do and know it is OK.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really useful book to help tweens get their heads round their emotions and moods.
I bought this for my 10yr old so she could make a note of how she feels and how she reacts in certain situations.
It is a really well devised book with tips on handling jealousy, anger, happiness and a whole gamut of other emotions and there is also space to note down feelings / work out how your child reacts emotionally. My daughter prefers to do this on her own and in her own time, but I guess you could fill it in with your daughter if she was willing!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for young girls with lots of feelings and questions!
My daughter loves this and has already filled out a large portion of it. We plan on getting more from this series going forward.
