It's a minor thing, but -- I really prefer to drink out of a metal vessel than glass or plastic. I'm convinced the drinks taste better. This Yeti tumbler builds that preference in four ways: first, the insulation is a wonder and keeps ice cold for hours; second it's beautiful; third it's a good size for keeping hydrated throughout the day and fourth it fits into an automotive cup holder.
Because I don't enjoy drinking from plastic, I usually do not use the straw and lid. They're nice to have while driving though.
This is expensive but I think of it as an affordable luxury. I would not risk paying less on a brand I didn't trust -- get something that's oily tasting or some such.
