I received these as a birthday gift. The spoons have some sealant with a chemical smell. I washed them, but the sealant remained. I've included a picture, the spoon on the left shows the condition in which it was initially received, and the spoon on the left has been sanded.The spoons/scoops are nice and sturdy, but I couldn't risk using them with food if coated with an unknown sealant. Their product description does not mention any type of coating or whether the wood is raw/natural, but clearly, something was applied to the wood.

    These are super cute and made well. The scoop is very large. Probably measures 1 cup. For some reason I purchased this thinking it was a tablespoon so I returned mine but before I did I tried to think of other was I could use it but couldn't think of anything. It could be used for dogfood/catfood scoop, or bath salts etc.
