    Purchased on April 12 2024, writing as of 7/25/2024.

    We used this umbrella every afternoon for 4 hours to block afternoon sun from entering the house. After the sun would set, we'd lower it for the next day. Under normal operation, the internal cord that allows the item to crank up and down snapped. I've watched some YouTube videos (one available if you search this item name) on how to fix it, but the process is very lengthy and tedious (requiring you to order a replacement cord and spend a good amount of time trying to get it through internal notches).

    Needless to say, I decided to reach out to the manufacturer via the order page here on Amazon. However, the phone number listed is a disconnected number, meaning you cannot get in touch with the manufacturer. Next solution I decided to explore was Googling the manufacturer and I was able to find a customer service number for them, which I called. The representative for the company I spoke with advised me that they do not have a product warranty, they cannot nor will not replace the product, and that if there was a problem, I'd need to reach out to Amazon... but, it's not Amazon's fault the item broke. This is a manufacturing defect.

    During my Google search, the BBB rating was a 1.07/5 stars, and all reviews indicate poor customer service, poor attention to detail, difficulty in reaching out to the manufacturer, and that there was no helpful resolution. "Companies" like Safavieh and their similarly operating scams are harmful to consumers and their products should not be purchased, let alone available to be sold on reputable sites like Amazon.

    This really perked up a dull area of our back yard. It looks high end and feels like you're at The Viceroy resort in Palm Springs or something. The ONLY complaint I have is that it's been impossible to get the wrinkles out of the fabric. It was shipped rolled up (of course) so it has some wrinkles (of course) but I've been hoping they'd go over time and they haven't really after six weeks. I wish I knew some way to get them out! Otherwise great and very fairly priced.
