I have been debating getting one for ages. The main things for me were price, portability, power, browsing and light office work. This is coming from someone who had a gaming pc but wanted to move to a hybrid and portable set up of a PS5 and tablet.
I actually set it up using my iPhone as you can transfer apps and data. I made sure I didn’t transfer media to save space. So I was up and running in about 10 minutes.
This iPad covers all my needs. Browsing is seamless, and with the added split screen function you can do useful things such as copy and pasting between apps and browsers, or just comparing. It’s nice to not have two monitors and be sat at a desk.
For light office work it’s great. Excel nothing more than adding and light formula. With word easy editing, nothing fancy. It blitzes these tasks with ease.
I went with the 64gb version as I have a Microsoft 365 family licence. I therefore back up all the photos and documents to OneDrive, so the 64gb is barely used. I also stream my music and have subscriptions to video services, so again I’d always get the base model and use 3rd party storage options to save cost on the actual model.
The speakers are great so having it on while cooking or just lounging is really nice.
Price, right now is fantastic £371.
Accessories, I like typing on screen so all I bought was a cheap cover and tempered glass screen. This makes it very portable and versatile.
If you’re looking for something to get you through general day to day, this is a great choice. If you design, draw, or do heavy editing look at the other options.
All in all I love it, and when this can’t get the latest updates I’ll buy a new one, and trade this one in towards it.
