From School Library Journal

K-Gr 2—Tackling everything from the seven continents and the night sky to creatures great and small and important inventors, this is a compendium of information ideal for younger elementary students interested in, well, just about everything! Not in-depth about any particular subject, this page-turner provides just enough blurbs and colorful photos to pique children's curiosity on subjects as varied as history, biology, geography, astronomy, meteorology, and more. Who doesn't want to know what the tallest buildings in the world are or the differences among various dinosaur species (and how to pronounce their very long names)? VERDICT This book won't be useful for writing papers or doing exhaustive research. Rather, consider it a browsing title for young and inquiring minds and a springboard to more comprehensive works, once the little ones are hooked.—Sharon Verbeten, Brown County Library, Green Bay, WI

A very interesting book for curious kids. Great gift idea
One of the best book purchase for my 3 year old toddler. He was very excited exploring each page. He can't read yet but the real images and illustrations are fun and eye catching. If you are looking for an encyclopedia that's not boring for little kids, i highly recommend this. Will probably buy this as a gift for my son's friend too.

Brilliant book. Bought this for my 5yo for Christmas but gave it to him early as he’s just finished his previous book and we couldn’t wait. We read a few pages a night, and he loves it! Totally mesmerised and you can see he is absorbing the information as he has a million questions when we go through it, and will often throw our little random facts over the next few days. Great formatting of the book and explanations in a clear simple way for younger children. I think it’s great value and the variety of topics keeps him engaged. The pictures are also good. Will be reading this book for a few weeks and hope to purchase others in the series soon.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing.

I don’t know what ages this book was intended for. There is a small amount of information on a variety of subjects but the writing is too deadly and uninspired to interest small children and it’s too superficial for older ones. A missed opportunity.
