I chose this rating because i was very ill and a friend let me borrow her mini UV Sanitizing light. It worked sooooo good that i had to have one. My cats peed all over the house because i swear they knew i was very ill and trying to help. I know that sounds weird but who would argue that cats aren't weird??? In a sort of cool way that is. I am a cat-a-holic!!! Anyway...the light completely eliminated all and i mean all odors from my bed, chair, floor, walls, desk, etc. They make a bigger one but this is easy to take along with you to the store or motel or hotel, etc. I would recommend it to anyone but specially to someone who cannot get ill. It works on computers, cell phones, keys, everything. If you go to the Verilux website they have a video from a local news company that did a review to see if the UV light was a deal or a dud and they said DEAL! That further convinced me i had to buy one. Get yourself one NOW!!!! Don't wait!!! With the flu epidemic and H1N1 going around and people dying...why wouldn't yu get one?!

Turn On

Sanitize Object
Hold your CleanWave as close as possible to the object (no more than 1/2 inch away) and move wand slowly from side to side.

Don't waste your money
The wand I received did not have any Verilux branding on it, which makes me doubt it's authenticity. The manual that came with it referenced a generic "brand" from overseas. It also did not have the safety mechanism that turns off the light when turned up, so it's too easy to accidentally shine it towards your eyes and face. That's not safe with UV light! While it does appear to generate UV-C light (it made the UV-C indicator light up on a test card), I strongly suspect it's only barely into the UV-C range. I doubt it gets even close to the germicidal range of 254nm or below. I did several tests with swabbing dirty surfaces before and after illuminating with the wand, and even with letting the bulb warm up and using it for 90 seconds (more than 4 times the recommended 20 seconds), there was NO reduction in bacterial growth. This product is both unsafe to use, and completely ineffective. Don't waste your money.
