- Reviewed in the United States on November 4, 2019Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseA thorough and varied and generous selection of panels/per/page and ways in which those panels are arranged. The paper takes pencil nicely and isn't too slick. This is ideal for someone who either will draw in it exclusively in pencil or who is willing to choose one side of each two-sided page/sheet to draw on, because the paper is thin enough that not only can you see the faint outlines of the panels on the other side through the paper but also attempting to use markers or ink would result in pigment bleeding through. I find myself wishing the sheets were one-sided. Seriously, I wouldn't have felt cheated by that. Also, and this is significant, if you wish to scan or photocopy your finished pages there's a chance that the "ghost" outlines of the panels on the other side will reproduce on the copies. This also makes photocopying one of the blank layouts difficult. Definitely, however you wish to draw and use this, I recommend cutting a sheet of tagboard/shirtboard to the size of the book to insert behind the page you are drawing on. the paper is thin enough that if you don't do this an impression might be left on the following page/sheet and those mars could show up if you are shading with pencils on that following page.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 4, 2023Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseI rarely write Amazon reviews, but I will here. This is really helping me think 'sequentially' as I have only just really sat down to write/illustrate a short story for the first time. I have dabbled since I was 7 witch comics specifically, but struggled to really do it because of my issues with pacing/story structure. I saw this before while looking for another style of notebook (isometric graph paper) and kept an eye on it, but finally felt it was a wise investment. This stayed and became my first choice for the variety of frames offered. It's good for the price, though the paper is thin and you will be able to see through to the other side. I'd recommend just using pencil on it honestly, but even so still not a bad thing if you treat it like what it is, a budget sketchbook.
Though this way of doing things might be like putting the cart before the horse with image coming before story technically, which isn't industry standard as far as I am aware. This is still a fun way to play with your timing/pacing/dialogue of any given one shot/page/etc. you might just want to doodle. It's helping me see where I can improve and what I can do differently already and have taken to it faster than most other sketchbooks I have owned (and I have owned a lot)
Form and function are perfect and the size is just right and fits in my ginormous purse. Also I didn't realize how the frames would fill the page, they we're "smaller" than anticipated, but it wasn't a disappointment in my book at all. I actually really appreciate the amount of space around them (isn't a lot, think Printed Word Document margins) as it makes it so much easier to write notes to myself.
10/10, recommend!

- Reviewed in the United States on January 9, 2025Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseI purchased this for my 9 year-old grandson, who draws quite well; he’s very excited about it. Although it says it on the cover, I missed it and was pleasantly amazed to find that it has 110 pages (ONE-HUNDRED AND TEN PAGES) of comic book frames! I can't wait to see the comics he creates.
A brilliant idea, it’s good quality paper and the book seems to be well made. There MUST be someone else I need to give this to.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple and brilliant
Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseSon loved it :)
Looking at reviews of other blank comic books, this one seemed the best. There's no printed speech bubbles which is a plus. Paper quality was very good - if you use texta it will bleed through but that's to be expected.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for creative kids!
Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseI love this book! I bought one for my 9 year old last Christmas since he loves making comic books. There is a great variety of different sized boxes throughout to make it more interesting. My 6 year old saw his brother working on his and made me order one for him now too! It’s a great way to keep them creative and busy over the summer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for kids!
Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseEasy to use for Kids. The pages are not all the same to allow for choice of layout. The layouts themselves are simple and not cluttered with unnecessary words or pictures which allows the creator to have complete freedom 🙂.
