WOW . . this can actually hold more earrings than I thought it would And it does have a smell because of the glue but I don't mind it. If you don't like smells, just air it outside for a few days. But seriously, all I had to do is hang it over my door, and the lock is good. I love this one in particular to hold my bracelets too. This one does not come with lights but I got these little stick on lights that I installed myself. Problem solved. But I love the mirror on it. I love the capacity. Glad I bought it, because we live in a condo and I need space savers!

• I ordered the black color. It’s NOT black. 100% not even close to black. It’s not even espresso. It’s definitely brown and a reddish cherry brown at that. Made me angry.
• The drawers are WAY smaller than I expected. Way way smaller.
• The earring holder section is PLASTIC not wood like the rest of the cabinet. You can NOT put any type of studs or hoops there. Dangly earrings only.
• The hardware is HORRIBLE and cheap. We had to go to Lowe’s and buy new hardware. The cabinet is heavy. It 100% has to be anchored securely to the wall. We had to screw straight through the back of the cabinet from the interior because the hardware was nowhere near adequate for secure mounting much less the very cheap tiny screws they sent. There’s no way it would hold up hanging on a door without eventually falling.
• The lock is okay enough, but you can VERY easily pull on the top or bottom corner of the door and rip it right off the lock. My toddler went straight for it and almost broke the door because it’s so flimsy and easy to pull.
• The ring area is super super cheaply made and will tear up if I use it too much. It’s just cheap foam with a thin layer of velvet on the top only so you can see the cheap foam if you push too hard on a ring. I’m having to use half the ring storage for stud earrings because there is nowhere else for them to go.
• The storage shelves are basically useless. They’re not even deep enough to hold a ring sized box. I’m having to use them for my hoop earrings because they don’t fit anywhere else.
• There is nowhere realistic for body jewelry fyi. Had to put my belly rings in the ring holders too.
• You cannot fit anything deeper than the hooks on the door and nothing can dangle over the shelves or the door will NOT close.
• And yeah, OMG the smell. I don’t even know how to describe it. It’s similar to the smell I smell right before I get a migraine. Not quite chemical but yeah it’s awful. Going to buy some febreeze tomorrow and pray cause it’s currently winter here in Alaska and opening a window is not at all possible.
• The dimensions are misleading. The ad photos are even more misleading. This box is smaller than my full length hanging mirror from Walmart.
• It was $109 when I bought it. I feel like it’s worth closer to $50 maximum. Especially since I had to buy $20 worth of hardware just to safely hang it. Def something you’d expect to buy somewhere like Big Lots or some other discount store. Even Walmart sells better quality furniture without the smell!

. . . . . . And I’m still very angry about the color. But it’s too late to send it back because of the way we had to mount it. Hoping in the summer I can find a way to paint it. Do yourself a favor and splurge on better quality with better dimensions.
